Construction of a Prefabricated Modular Building for a Thermal Disinfection and Decontamination Station for Pathogenicity Groups III–IV Effluents

In September 2020, INEX Group reached the final stages of developing the Project and Estimate Documentation (PSD) for the Laboratory of DNA-containing Virus Genetics at the Mechnikov Research Institute of Vaccines and Sera in Moscow. This specialized facility is designed to meet the rigorous safety and technical demands of high-level virological research.

Proprietary Effluent Decontamination System (EDS): A cornerstone of this project is the integration of an advanced liquid waste treatment system, which is an exclusive in-house development by INEX. This system ensures the guaranteed sterilization of hazardous liquid biological waste associated with Pathogenicity Groups II–IV.

Key features of the INEX decontamination unit include:

  • Dual-Line Reliability: The system consists of two parallel, full-cycle lines that can operate independently or simultaneously, ensuring 100% operational uptime.

  • Full Automation: The unit is equipped with a self-diagnostic control system that manages the entire decontamination cycle without manual intervention.

  • Safety First: The design prioritizes simplicity and safety for lab personnel while maintaining a robust biological barrier.

Construction and Commissioning Progress: By the second decade of September, INEX specialists successfully concluded the physical assembly of the Cleanroom Complex. Following the structural handover, work has transitioned to the commissioning phase for the laboratory's critical engineering infrastructure:

  • Ventilation Systems: Calibrating airflow and pressure differentials to maintain sterile environments.

  • Low-Voltage Systems: Configuring the laboratory's communication, security, and data monitoring networks.
