Construction of a Prefabricated Modular Building for a Thermal Disinfection and Decontamination Station for Pathogenicity Groups III–IV Effluents

On October 12, 2023, the engineering team from "Project Consult" LLC (part of the INEX Group) conducted a comprehensive site visit to the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after K.I. Skryabin. The visit involved detailed engineering surveys and a facility audit to launch the design phase for a new microbiology and PCR laboratory complex.

The project involves the design of a 200 sq.m. facility with a diverse multi-disciplinary structure. The laboratory is engineered to house the following specialized departments:

  • Bacteriology: For the cultivation and identification of bacterial pathogens.

  • ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay): For serological testing and immunology.

  • Real-Time PCR and Standard PCR: Dedicated suites for nucleic acid amplification and genetic analysis.

  • Parasitology: Specialized zones for the study of parasitic organisms.

Engineering Standards and Regulatory Compliance: Designing a laboratory of this complexity requires strict adherence to biosafety protocols, particularly for handling Pathogenic Biological Agents (PBA) of Hazard Groups III–IV. The INEX team is implementing solutions based on the following regulatory framework:

  • SanPiN 3.3686-21: National requirements for the prevention of infectious diseases.

  • MU 1.3.2569-09: Guidelines for organizing labs using nucleic acid amplification methods with III-IV group pathogens.

  • R.3.5.1904-04: Standards for utilizing UV germicidal irradiation for air and surface decontamination.

  • ISO 14644 (GOST 14644): International standards for cleanrooms and associated controlled environments.

Current Status: Following the site audit, INEX specialists have already developed three conceptual design variants for the "Technological Solutions" (TX) section. These options emphasize optimized personnel and material flow to prevent cross-contamination, a critical factor in molecular diagnostics. The concepts have been submitted to the Skryabin Academy for review and final selection.
