Construction of a Prefabricated Modular Building for a Thermal Disinfection and Decontamination Station for Pathogenicity Groups III–IV Effluents

The Mechnikov Research Institute of Vaccines and Sera (Moscow) has partnered with INEX Group to execute the capital reconstruction of its Laboratory of DNA-containing Virus Genetics. Given the sensitivity of working with viral genetic material, this project demands the highest level of engineering precision and adherence to international biosafety protocols.
A key innovation for this project is the Biological Safety Module (BSM) developed by INEX engineers. This "ready-to-install" solution streamlines the assembly of high-containment environments while ensuring total compliance with user requirements.
Design Qualification and Planning: The project successfully completed the Design Qualification (DQ) phase. This formal process provides documented evidence that the engineering solutions for the production and research areas strictly align with the User Requirement Specification (URS) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.
In early 2020, strategic planning sessions with the Institute’s management and laboratory staff resulted in a finalized technological layout. By April 2020, the "Technological Solutions" (TX) blueprints were officially approved and released for construction.
Construction and Assembly Milestones: The physical transformation of the facility is proceeding in phases:

Demolition: Site preparation and demolition of legacy structures were finalized by mid-May 2020.

Structural Works: The team has initiated floor screed preparation, a critical step for the subsequent installation of precision cleanroom flooring.

Proprietary Systems: INEX has delivered the first components of the BSM to the site, including gypsum-metal panels and a specialized profile fastening subsystem manufactured in-house.
These modular components are designed to create airtight, easy-to-decontaminate surfaces that are essential for genetic research involving viral pathogens.
