hamburger Design of radiation sterilization areas and installations

Industrial irradiation has been actively used in world practice for the last 50 years. Radiation sterilization has long been the method of choice in the pharmaceutical industry. The main share of industrial irradiation in the volume of output falls on the sterilization of medical devices: 55% of medical and pharmaceutical products produced in the world today are sterilized using irradiation.

The design of an irradiation installation is carried out in accordance with the algorithm of compliance with the technical requirements of the Customer, as well as taking into account the characteristics of the range of sterilized products: its dimensions in the produced packaging, the materials from which it is made, the level of industrial contamination after release and other factors that determine the quality of sterilization. An electron accelerator with a life support complex is selected or ordered according to the specific requirements of the sterilization technological line, the levels of required sterilizing doses of radiation, as well as taking into account the conditions for locating areas on the enterprise site.

When preparing the layout of a site or radiation sterilization installation, the structure of the accelerator complex is taken into account.

The accelerator radiation protection unit is calculated and designed taking into account the selected accelerator.

It is possible to design a Radiation Sterilization installation in local protection, without a permanent structure. This option is primarily intended for the production of small volumes of sterile products.

The advantage of electron accelerators is the fact that the radiation can be interrupted at any time. The radiation is essentially beta radiation, and the penetrating power of these rays is low compared to gamma rays, so this radiation is not suitable for processing high-density goods. Processing time is usually measured in seconds.

Professional and competent design, taking into account the Customer's requirements as much as possible, as well as the use of modeling methods when planning all technological calculations of the sterilization process, allow INEX Company specialists to find optimal solutions for planning the radiation sterilization site. Choosing the type of radiation sterilization system, placing the installation and its life support systems makes it possible to ensure complete radiation and environmental safety of the site, reduce investment costs and obtain a significant economic effect during its operation.

The INEX Group of Companies' own production base and design bureau ensures turnkey implementation of the project, supporting the Customer not only with high-quality technical solutions, but also with ready-made installed equipment, guaranteed, reliable and in compliance with the national import substitution policy.
