The design of radiation sterilization at INEX also applies to laboratories and departments for working with radiopharmaceuticals, including their research, synthesis and production for the needs of health care facilities, radionuclide diagnostics - all objects of category IV according to OSPORB-99, taking into account the limitation of radiation exposure in the event of a possible accident in the premises, where work with radiopharmaceuticals is carried out.

The design of laboratories is carried out taking into account the requirements of clause 3.3 of OSPORB-99, the requirements of clause 3 of MU 2.6.1.1892-04, construction standards for the design of medical healthcare facilities, without a sanitary protection zone around the premises with radiopharmaceuticals. As a rule, for a radiopharmaceutical laboratory, taking into account the profile, scale and structure of a medical institution, a separate block of premises, isolated from other departments in the building, or a separate building is designed.

Together with the Customer, the radiation hazard group of the radioisotope used and its activity in the workplace is determined, as well as the classes of work with radiopharmaceuticals, taking into account clause 3.7 of MU 2.6.1.1892-04. The placement, layout and equipment of premises for working with radiopharmaceuticals is determined according to the class of these works. This approach to design ensures, first of all, the radiation safety of personnel and the ability to effectively work with radiopharmaceuticals.
