Cleanroom equipment should be designed to operate with a minimum to maximum temperature range. The minimum temperature is the lowest ambient temperature to which the equipment can be exposed. The maximum temperature is the highest temperature of the internal environment that is in direct contact with the equipment.

The design of the room and laboratory equipment should take into account the effect of various thermal expansions with temperature changes and temperature gradients that occur in practice during operation.
